education/experience
Dr. hansen was granted a Doctorate of clinical psychology, PhD. following his successful completion of a pre-doctoral internship at the honolulu veterans hospital on the islands of Hawaii and American Samoa.
As a well-published author and speaker, Dr. Hansen has received multiple awards, including the Rocky Mountain Association's research award (2012), as well as being recently cited in the Journal of Pragmatic Case Studies (2015), and the Journal of Sex and Marital therapy (2013).
His research on successful psychotherapy outcomes was featured at the International Congress of Cognitive Psychotherapy (ICCP) in Hong Kong in 2015. His writing on therapist/multi-cultural variables that lead to rapid positive changes in psychotherapy has been featured at the American Psychological Association's Annual Conferences in Boulder, Co. (2016), San Diego, CA. (2012), and Honolulu, HI. (2013).
dr. hansen taught as a member of byu's graduate adjunct & Staff faculty from 2009-2016. He Completed his post-doctoral Residency At Child Family and Adult Treatment Specialists, CHATS in AF, UT.
personal life

Dr. hansen enjoys writing, recording, and performing music. he also has a passion for exercising on his elliptical machine, as well as gardening while listening to depressing existential books-on-tape. As a single father of his 2-year-old son archer, he also enjoys occasional delusions of grandeur about being a good dad while teaching his son about the inevitable sufferings of the human experience.
he currently resides and practices in provo, Ut. and is undertaking the training of his 18-month-old puppy named herman (named after his favorite author Herman Hesse) and Herman's brother Abednigo (ADHD doppelgänger) albeit with varying degrees of success.

He employs cognitive, behavioral, interpersonal, and alternative approaches including art/music therapy and lifestyle changes/dietary interventions to effect change in his patients' lives.
